Live slowly to live better, slow down, look up, and take time to rediscover the authenticity of the gestures and moments that accompany our lives. It is time to rediscover slowness, and also boredom. Not out of laziness, indolence, escape from responsibilities, but to regain an important piece of one’s life, one’s identity, one’s desires. And do not waste yourself in a frantic and often counterproductive, or in any case useless haste, daily and irrepressible haste.
Slow down to look up and take a break to reconsider the rhythm of your life, not to get overwhelmed by despair and frenzy in work and leisure. It is time to rediscover slowness and also boredom, in a society that always sees us in a hurry and where the few spaces of relaxation available to us are sometimes experienced as a waste of time.
Let’s see the 14 commanders to Live slowly
Wake up 5 minutes earlier than usual to shave, make up or have breakfast without haste and with a pinch of joy.
If we are queuing in traffic or at a supermarket checkout, we avoid getting angry and we use this time to mentally plan the evening or to chat with the trolley neighbor.
If you enter a bar for a coffee, remember to say goodbye, enjoy your coffee and go back to the moment you leave (this rule applies to all shops, offices and even in the elevator).
Write sms without symbols or abbreviations.
Whenever possible, we avoid doing two things at the same time as telephoning and writing on the computer … otherwise you risk becoming rude, inaccurate and approximate.
We avoid enrolling us or our children in a school or gym on the other side of the city.
Do not fill the agenda of our day with events, even if pleasant, we learn to say some no and to have moments of emptiness.
Do not rush to do the shopping, certainly your pantry will allow you to cook a good dinner.
Even if it may cost a little more, every now and then let’s take a little visit to the shop below the house, we will save time and be less stressed.
We take a walk, alone or in a company, instead of queuing up by car to reach the usual restaurant outside the door.
In the evening, read the newspapers and do not keep zapping in front of the TV.
Avoid a few weekend trips but enjoy your city, whatever it is.
If you have 15 days of vacation, dedicate 10 to holidays and use the rest as pre or post holiday decompression.
Let’s stop repeating I don’t have time. Continuing to do this will certainly not make us seem more important.
And here are also the 7 commandments to live slowly in the kitchen
Food is your first medicine Hippocrates teaches … believe it.
Food poetry begins when we shop: we choose seasonal and quality products. If we want to save money, we decrease the quantity: which is also an excellent choice for controlling cholesterol and weight.
It is scientifically proven that the water does not boil first if we continue to observe it: so without haste we become passionate about the preparation of our dinner and carefully set the table, a flower?
We use all our senses to enjoy the individual ingredients: sight, touch, smell, taste … even hearing (kitchen noises make a lot of home and warmth).
We taste every forkful and every little sip of that wine that, even if incompetent, we will have chosen with love and care.
Let’s avoid the two in one. If we eat we don’t call, if we call we don’t eat.
Let’s not rush … the dishwasher, the last touch-up on the computer, etc. expect.
